Winemaking notes: 100% Chardonnay from vines older than 60 years of age, pressed whole cluster, fermented in stainless steel with a portion of the cuvée (15%) aged in one-and-two-year-old French oak barrels, and the remainder aged on the lees in tank with period pump-overs, for eleven months.
Tasting note: the Vaucopins is medium gold in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of acacia, honeycomb, tangerine, golden apple, yogurt, petrichor, chalk and saline. On the palate this wine is dry with high acid, medium alcohol, medium+ body, pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors or acacia, bergamot, lemon balm, kaffir lime, tangerine, apricot, cream, chalk, saline, sage leaf, and spearmint. Drink now through 2028, this wine is outstanding: 9.5/10.
