Winemaking notes: Mâcon-Charnat-lès-Mâcon is the technical name for this appellation. 100% Chardonnay from 50+-year-old vines, grown on yellow Jurassic limestone and marl soils, organically-farmed, fermented with natural yeasts, and aged in the fine lees in tank for six months for malolactic fermentation.
Tasting note: the Mâcon-Charnay is deep lemon in color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of mayflower, jasmine, chalk, sea spray, lemon, apple, yogurt, cheese and apple mint. On the palate this wine is dry with high acid, medium alcohol, medium+ body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of acaci, lemon, chamomile, pineapple, red apple, persimmon, chalk, cream, and a touch of sea salt and pineapple mint. Drink now, this wine is good: 8.9/10.
