13% abv, Les Touvet, imported by Fass Selections, Irvine, CA. Cork closure: composite. Biodynamic calendar: leaf day.

Winemaking notes: 100% Gamay Noir from a 0.4-ha parcel of 60+ year-old vines set at the foot of Mont Granier. The terroir is mostly limestone and decomposed limestone. The must is fermented two-thirds whole-cluster on indigenous yeast in neutral oak, and aged three months before bottling.

Tasting note: the Isère Gamay is medium garnet in color with a funky nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of black cherry, caramel, mouse, roasted meat, smoked duck, and caraway. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acidity, medium-minus tannin, medium body, medium flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of acacia, black plum, cassis, caramel, Turkish fig, smoke, licorice, smoked meat, pepper, fennel, and dried sage. Drink now this wine is good: 8.7/10.
