12% abv, Colombe le Sec, Cote des Bar, imported by J & J Winery, Napa, CA. Cork closure: composite. Biodynamic calendar: root day.

Winemaking notes: 60% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir & 20% Pinot Meunier. A group of 22 cooperative growers in Cote de Bars who have been working together since 1956.

Tasting note: the 2012 Clément is medium gold in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of pink grapefruit, lemon blossom, cream, toasted cracker, Egyptian musk, leather, and pineapple mint. On the palate this wine is dry high acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of hibiscus, dried cranberry, crème de cassis, lemon cream, lemon zest, nougat, meringue, and pineapple mint. Drink now through 2024, this is very good: 9.1/10. This was a bit too funky on the nose but had a nice concentration and texture, a good value for vintage Champagne.
