14% abv, Eugene Bouchié, Saint-Andelain, imported by MISA Imports Inc., Dallas, TX. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: root day.
Winemaking notes: 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on flinty clay and marl soils with Kimmerdigian stones. The Bouchié family has 22 hectares of mostly old vines in Pouilly-Fumé; they are a family domaine for three generations. The domaine is known for the “shelly flint clay of the kimmeridgian period located on SAINT-ANDELAIN hill, overlooking the Loire river.”
Tasting note: the ‘La Reneradière’ is medium lemon in color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of jasmine, grapefruit, lemon, lycee and flint. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acidity, high alcohol, medium body, medium flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of jasmine, white peach, lycee, gooseberry, smoke, lemongrass and pineapple mint. Drink now through 2024, this is very good. 9.0/10. This was very ripe, and a bit heavy but had nice flavor intensity and a good finish, a nice effort in the recent warmer vintage.
