Winemaking notes: 35% Gamay Noir, 35% Cot (Malbec) & 30% Pinot Noir, sustainably farmed from 28-hectares of vines at Domaine Jourdain, fermented with native yeast, and aged in neutral oak barrels for nine months. Valençay on tributary of the river Cher in Touraine and is well known for its pyramid-shaped cheeses from raw goats milk, and was approved for AOC wines in 2003 after being a VDQS since 1970. Gamay Noir is the main variety for red wines. White wines are often produced from Sauvignon Blanc. 

Tasting note: the ‘Les Griottes’ is medium garnet vin color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of carnation, strawberry, black cherry, red licorice, chalk, forest floor and a touch of fennel. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium+ tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of rose hip, black cherry, raspberry, blood orange, red licorice, anise and fennel. Drink from 2025, this wine is very good: 9.3/10.
