14% abv, Chinon, imported by Serendipity Wine Company, Austin, TX. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: leaf day.

100% Cabernet Franc, this cuvée is only produced in very good vintages and honors the family’s matriarch. The wine is aged in a combination of neutral French oak and tank from an assemblage of the family’s single vineyard sites.

Tasting note: the Baronnie Madeleine is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of rose hip, raspberry, red plum, tobacco, olive tapenade and wax. On the palate this wine is dry with medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium-minus body and a medium finish with flavors of raspberry, leather, dried tobacco leaf, green pepper and dried sage leaf. Drink now, this Chinon from the Touraine region of the Loire Valley is quite good: 8.9/10.
