Tasting note: the Jones Fitou is deep garnet in color with a clean nose of pronounced intensity with aromas of lavender, violet, blackberry, Turkish fig, anise, licorice, white pepper and nag champa. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium tannins, high alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors of violet, lavender, rose hip, black cherry, boysenberry, cedar, licorice, clove and cardamom. Drink now through 2026, this wine is very good: 9.2/10. Great balance here with some freshness–which certainly helps to battle the high alcohol—and a beautiful pedigree of flavor complexity.
