Winemaking notes: 100% Syrah, organically-farmed from 50-year-old vines. The fruit is de-stemmed and fermented in concrete tanks with daily pump over and the wine is aged in 225L oak casks with around 30% new oak.

Tasting note: the ‘La Mordorée’ is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of pronounced intensity with aroma of violet potpourri, dried lavender, Turkish fig, cassis, blackberry, leather, cedar, clove, horse sweat and anise. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium+ tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors of dried lavender, dried red currant, blood orange, rhubarb, licorice, tobacco, iron, fig, date, cinnamon, cardamom, cola spice and dried sage. Drink now, this wine is very very good and has mostly settled into its tertiary phase: 9.5/10.
