Winemaking notes: 100% Syrah from 3.8 hectares of vines, the fermentation is conducted with the old vines de-stemmed, and the young vines whole cluster, where they are fermented separately for 20+ days with morning and evening punch downs. The wine is aged for twelve months in French oak barrels.
Tasting note: the Lemenicier Cornas is deep garnet in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of lavender, damson, Turkish fig, palm date, caramel, fruit cake, tapenade, and dried sage. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium+ body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors violet, hibiscus, raspberry preserves, mulberry, blueberry compote, leather, honey, tar, cedar, earth, tobacco, herbs de Provence and dried sage. Drink now, this Cornas from the Northern Rhône is very good: 9.2/10. This has a beautiful freshness of acidity and is in the zone where there’s a beautiful balance of primary, secondary and tertiary flavors.
