13.5% abv, Ribeauvillé, imported by Serge Doré Selections, South Salem, NY. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: flower day.
Winemaking notes: 100% Riesling from the ‘silver hill’ from a limestone and chalk mountain rich in sea fossils with clay and loam soils on top of a famous vineyard where silver mines were dug in the middle aged, located about 4 kilometers from Ribeauvillé.
Tasting note: this Alsace Riesling is pale gold in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of white followers, honeysuckle, green apple, honeycrisp apple, honey, wax, petrol and slate. On the palate this wine is dry with high acid, high alcohol, medium body, pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors of honey crisp apple, Fuji apple, lemon, lime zest, wax, wet stones, petrol, and a touch of pink ginger and spearmint. Drink now through 2033, this wine is outstanding: 9.7/10.
