Winemaking notes: 100% Pinot Noir from 45-year-old vines grown in a limestone gravel soil with red clay. “Maceration with 20% whole bunches of 24 days including 7 days cold. Fermentation used indigenous yeasts only (no additives such as enzymes or tannins were used). Infrequent punching of the cap (5). Vinification without sulfur, and aged on the lees for 12 months with no racking using a proportion of 35% new French oak barrels.”
Tasting note: the Boisset Chambolle-Musigny is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of pronounced intensity with aroma of rose hip, strawberry, red cherry, hazelnut, English walnut, cedar, anise, sandalwood, tobacco and clove. On the palate this when is dry with medium acid, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, medium flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of red cherry, morello, leather, cedar, cherry pipe tobacco, wood spice, hazelnut and a touch of vanilla bean. Drink now through 2030, this Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny from the Côte de Nuits is very good: 9.3/10.
