Winemaking notes: 100% Cabernet Franc from 50-year-old vines, farmed organically on clay and limestone soils fermented for 30 days on the skins and aged in French oak barrels for eight months.
Tasting note: the ‘Ruben’ Saumur-Champigny is deep garnet in color with hints of purple, and a clean nose of pronounced intensity with aromas of black plum, Turkish fig, barnyard, horse sweat, leather, Egyptian musk and smoked meat. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium tannin, high alcohol, medium body, pronounced flavor intensity and a medium* finish with flavors of violet, plum, morello cherry, vanilla, leather, forest floor, roasted meat, fig, green pepper, tobacco and dried sage leaf. Drink now, this Cabernet Franc from the Anjou region of the Loire Valley is very good: 9.2/10.
