Winemaking notes: 100% Mondeuse from 2 hectares of vines grown on clay and limestone soils on steep high-elevation mountain vineyards in the village of Jongieux on the west side of Lake Bourget and Aix-Les-Baines. 30% whole cluster grapes are used, and the wine is aged in tank for eight months.
Tasting note: the Jongieux Mondeuse is medium purple in color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of violet, boysenberry, blackberry, mulberry, concord jam, bramble, cinnamon, rosehip and sagebrush. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium-minus tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, medium flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of violet, sour cherry, blackberry, mulberry, cinnamon, sage, oregano and a touch of cedar. Drink now, this Vin de Savoie is good: 8.9/10.
