Winemaking notes: Pinot Noir, Trousseau & Poulsard (percentages undisclosed) from an co-planted vineyard, co-fermented, and aged in French oak for three years. Frédéric is the nephew of famed winegrower Jacques Puffeney and works by hand a small 2.5 hectares of vines in the hills of Arbois.
Tasting note: the Arbois blend is pale ruby in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of rose hip, carnation, Rainer cherry, cassis, tangerine peel, leather, walnut, rhubarb, mushroom, and cinnamon. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium+ tannin, medium body, high alcohol, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of rose hip, rose petal potpourri, cherry, pomegranate, strawberry, burnt orange peel, marmalade, fennel and tarragon leaf. Drink now through 2030, this Arbois from the Jura region is very good: 9.2/10.
