Winemaking notes: 100% Pinot Noir from the ‘Les Chardannes’ vineyard which lies under the famous grand cru Bonnes Mares closer to the RN74. The grapes were hand-harvested and de-stemmed, macerated for 24 days with natural yeasts and the wine was aged 16 months in 45% new barrels with a light toast.
Tasting note: the Chabolle-Musigny is deep garnet in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of rose hip, dried rose petals, stewed cherry, black cherry, clove, cedar, licorice, smoke, incense and toasted orange peel. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ tannin, high alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of rose hip, violet, anise, tangerine peel, cassis, red cherry, pecan, walnut, forest floor, smoke and nag champa. Drink now through 2029, this wine is very good: 9.3/10.
