Winemaking notes: 65% Grenache Noir, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% Counoise, and small parts of Cinsault, Terret, Muscardin & Vacarèsse. The certified-organic grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed and macerated for an extended length, and the wine is aged 10% in oak and 90% in concrete.
Tasting note: the CDP Rouge is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of lavender, rose petals, mulberry, blackberry, dark cherry, blueberry, licorice, anise, leather, garrigue, clove and wild game. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium+ tannin, high alcohol, medium+ body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors lavender, red plum, raspberry, blueberry, boysenberry, jam, licorice, cedar, anise, clove and herbs de Provence.
