12.5% abv, Guy Allion, Thésée, imported by J&J Winery, Napa, CA. Cork closure: composite. Biodynamic calendar: fruit day.
Winemaking notes: 100% Sauvignon Blanc, harvested from sloping hillside vineyards with clayey, siliceaous soils topped with flinty sand. The wine is aged for 8 months on the fine lees.
Tasting note: the Touraine Chenonceaux is medium lemon in color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of acacia, magnolia, passion fruit, grapefruit, nectarine, lemongrass and a hint of fresh cut jalapeño. On the palate this wine is dry with high acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of acacia, hibiscus, passion fruit, kiwi, lychee, lemongrass, pineapple mint and a touch of green pepper. Drink now through 2026, this Sauvignon Blanc from the Touraine region of the Loire Valley is very good: 9.4/10. I loved the bright fruit, freshness and powerful intensity in this wine which would be bang on for lovers of the wines of Sancerre and Centre Loire, a stunning value!
