Winemaking notes: 100% Chardonnay, vines between 5 and 30 years of age, grown on bathonian clay and limestone soil, in conversion to organic farming. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeast in stainless steel tanks and the wines ages on the lees for seven months and completed malolactic fermentation in the spring.
Tasting note: the Vézelay is pale gold in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of magnolia, honeysuckle, pear, tangerine, satsuma, apricot, cream, yogurt, cheese rind and apple mint. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium alcohol, medium+ body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of acacia, jasmine, tangerine, apricot, ripe red apple, apple cider, cream, yogurt and pineapple mint and Moroccan mint. Drink now through 2027, this Chardonnay from the Yonne department of Bourgogne is very good: 9.2/10.
