Winemaking notes: 100% Pinot Noir from estate vineyards and partner growers with vines aged 40+ years. “From vineyards in the south of Alsace: Rodern and St Hippolyte, some based on granite, some on sandstone, and some from marl and limestone soils. This wine represents the unique mosaic of soils of our region.” The wine is fermented in stainless steel and large oak vats and ages for three month while completing malolactic fermentation.
Tasting note: the Alsace Pinot Noir is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of rose hip tea, hibiscus tea, black cherry, leather, pomegranate liquor, and a touch of lemon peel. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of rose hip, strawberry yogurt, black cherry, pomegranate, black tea, leather, chestnut and sage.
