14% abv, Pommard, tasted at domaine. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: fruit day.

Winemaking notes: 100% Pinot Noir from the premier cru vineyard near the village boarder with Volnay, 50% de-stemmed, 50% whole cluster. The wine was aged in 30% new oak for 16 months. “The soil is clay-limestone and extends from hillsides well drained by pebbles and gently sloping. The proportion of limestone gives Pommard wines their powerful and full-bodied structure. The Rugiens are located further up on the hillsides compared to the Epenots.”

Tasting note: the Pommard is medium garnet in color with a clean nose pronounced intensity with aromas of violet, morello cherry, framboise, black cherry, cream, French vanilla, nutmeg, hazelnut and allspice. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium tannin, high alcohol, full body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of violet, black cherry, framboise, cassis, cream, allspice, cinnamon, hazelnut, sage and thyme. Drink now through 2030, this wine is very good: 9.3/10.
