Winemaking notes: 100% Chardonnay from a range of premier and grand cru and villages throughout Champagne, the base wine is assembled from 70% of the the 2018 vintage with 20% from 2017 and 10% of reserve wines. The wine is aged on the lees for over 28 months and is finished with a dosage of 7g/L. “Ruinart Blanc de Blancs includes some 25–30 different chardonnay crus, predominantly from the Côte des Blancs, the Montagne de Reims, the Sézannais and La Vallée de la Vesle.”
Tasting note: the Ruinart Blanc de Blancs is medium gold in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of jasmine, hawthorn, lemon blossom, yuzu, yellow grapefruit, tangerine, cream, croissant and oregano leaf. On the palate this wine is dry with high acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of lemon blossom, jasmine, acacia, lemon, pink lady apple, pear, tangerine, yogurt, biscuit, almond paste, blanched almonds, saline and pineapple mint. Drink now, this wine is very good: 9.1/10.
