Winemaking notes: 100% Chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards. Aged for nine years on the lees. Disgorged 06/2022 and finished with 4g/L or sugar. The Dom Ruinart range is hand corked, hand riddled and disgorged by hand June, 2022. “Made exclusively from Grand Cru chardonnays, 90% of which are grown on the Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Chouilly and Cramant) and 10% on the Montagne de Reims (Sillery).”
Tasting note: the Dom Ruinart is medium gold in color with a clean nose of pronounced intensity with aromas of dried white flower bouquet, wisteria, hay, Egyptian musk, primrose, lemon blossom, dried pear, dried apricot, nectarine, leather, saline, chalk, marzipan, rye, fennel and thyme. On the palate this wine is dry with high acid, medium alcohol, full body, pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors of lemon blossom, primrose, acacia, jasmine, lemoncello liqueur, lemon skin, tangerine peel, lemon preserves, tangerine, nectarine, croissant, butter, honeycomb, sea salt, sage and fennel. Drink now through 2034, this Champagne is near perfect: 9.9/10.
