15% abv, EARL Gravier-Piche, La Cadière d’Azur, tasted at Domaine. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: flower day.
Winemaking notes: 90% Mourvèdre & 10% Carignan from the estate’s older vines, certified AB organic. The grapes are hand-harvested and the wine is cold soaked and left on the skins for four weeks before élévage in French oak foudre for 18 months.
Tasting note: the Bandol ‘Les Lauves’ is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of pronounced intensity with aromas of dried lavender, blueberry, cedar, tobacco, sous bois, leather and thyme. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium+ tannin, high alcohol, full body, pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors of lavender, blueberry, boysenberry, cream, vanilla, cedar, black truffle, truffle and oregano leaf. Drink now , this wine is outstanding: 9.7/10. A really beautiful red wine from Provence, this has a wonderful power, length and complexity despite being pretty high in alcohol, and will benefit from some time in bottle.
