Winemaking notes: 59% Sauvignon Blanc & 41% Sémillon from the estate’s vineyards in Sauternes. Dry wines are not permitted under the Sauternes AOC so this wine is declassified under the regional Bordeaux appellation. The grapes are hand-harvested and the Sémillon undergoes alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels and the Sauvignon Blanc ages on the lees in stainless steel before assemblage after six months.
Tasting note: the Bordeaux Blanc is medium lemon in color with a clean nose of pronounced intensity with aromas of lemon blossom, acacia, lime zest, lemon, grapefruit, custard, cream, vanilla, musk, rosewood and lemongrass. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium alcohol, medium+ body, pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors of lemon blossom, jasmine, acacia, yuzu, ponderossa, pineapple jam, custard, cream, vanilla, ginger, rosewood, lemongrass and fennel. Drink now through 2027, this white blend from the left bank of Bordeaux is outstanding: 9.6/10.
