13% abv, Patrick Landanger, Volnay, imported by Favorite Brands LLC, Farmer’s Branch, TX. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: fruit day.

Winemaking notes: 100% Pinot Noir from a 2.1ha premier cru monopole which lies just below the village of Volnay and sits on a southeast exposure and is part of the ‘La Village’ climat set entirely within a walled vineyard on limestone and clay soils. The vineyard is farmed biodynamically and the grapes are entirely de-stemmed before being aged in 1/3 new French oak and one-year and two-year-old barrels for 14 months.

Tasting note: the Volnay is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of rose petal, violet, cranberry, crème de cassis, orange peel, blood orange, hazelnut, anise snd tarragon leaf. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, high tannin, medium alcohol, medium+ body, pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors of rose hip tea, violet, black currant, crème de cassis, crème de violette, hazelnut, toasted chestnut, Turkish tobacco, anise, white truffle, sage and bay leaf. Drink now through 2034, this Pinot Noir from the Côte de Beaune is outstanding: 9.6/10. Overall, a gorgeous wine with complexity, intensity and length of real impact!
