Winemaking notes: 100% Pinot Noir grown in the Grand Cru Hengst on a south-facing hillside with marl and sandstone soils in the southern hills of Alsace near the Munster Valley. The wine is aged in small French oak barrels for 18 months. 

Tasting note: the Alsace Pinot Noir is pale garnet with a clean nose of pronounced intensity with aromas of rose petal, baked cherry, creme de cassis, orange peel, bergamot, earl grey tea and dried sage. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium+ tannin, medium alcohol, medium+ body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of rose petal, violet, black currant, creme de cassis, black cherry, sous bois, black tea, smoke, leather, anise, fennel and thyme. Drink now through 2026, this wine is very very good: 9.5/10.
