14.5% abv, Saint Vérand, imported by Fass Selections, Irvine, CA. Cork closure: synthetic. Biodynamic calendar: root day.

Winemaking notes: 100% Gamay Noir, HVE-certified, from a 2.7ha vineyard on a south-facing slope of pink granite, quartz and mica. The grapes are hand-harvested and the wine is half carbonic maceration and half traditional fermentation with pumping over in concrete bay for 12 days. The ‘Les Garants’ climat used to be a part of the Moulin-à-Vent appellation. The cru was recommended, along with 6 other climats, for classification as a premier cru by the Cru Fleurie winegrower syndicate in 2023.

Tasting note: the Fleurie is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of cherry blossom, hibiscus, Mirabelle plum, cherry, strawberry and thyme. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium tannin, high alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of hibiscus, primrose, plum, cherry, grilled peach, apricot, smoke, pink peppercorn and thyme. Drink now though 2028, this Cru Beaujolias is very good: 9.1/10.
