Winemaking notes: one of fourteen Troisièmes Crus (Third Growths), Chateau Lagrange is 118 hectares of vines planted to 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot in and is hand harvested and aged in 55 new oak barrels for 21 months. A second wine is produced from the younger vines and some press juice of the estates grapes, and the Lagrange (first wine) receives a small amount of press juice for added structure.

Tasting note: the 2005 Lagraneg is deep garnet in color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of black currant, caramel, tobacco and woodspice. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, medium alcohol, medium+ body, pronounced flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of rosehip, red currant, cream, vanilla, Turkish fig, prune, tobacco, leather and eucalyptus. This wine is very good, drink now: 9.5/10.
