Winemaking notes: 100% Pinot Noir were re-planted in 1966; the east-facing vineyard site lies on a comb of geological alluvium materials including silt and clay. farmed organically and biodynamically since 1999. 75% whole cluster, fermented in open top French oak for 20 days, and aged in 40% new French oak from the Cîteaux forest for 14 months; unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting note: the ‘La Justice’ is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of ash, mandarin, pomegranate, dried orange peel, toasted hazelnuts, mushroom and clay. On the palate this wine is dry with high acid, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium+ body, pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors rose petals, cranberry, pomegranate, iron, toasted hazelnut, fresh leather, dried and candied orange peel, marzipan, earth, and chanterelle. This wine is outstanding, drink now: 9.7/10.
