Winemaking notes: made with organic grapes. “The 13-hectare vineyards of Chateau Coutet are planted to 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec, with vines that are on average 35 years of age. The wine is vinified in traditional, cement tanks. 85% of the wine is aged in 20% new, French oak barrels for about 18 months. The other 15% is aged in the cement vats.”

Tasting note: the Coutet is medium garnet in color with clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of violet, black currant, damson, Japanese plum, tobacco, black pepper, cedar and graphite. On the palate dry, medium acid, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of red currant, black plum, tobacco, sour cherry, pepper and eucalyptus and sage leaf. Drink from 2028, this wine is very good: 9.2/10.
