15% abv, Famille Meffre, Saint-Julien, imported by Aquitaine Selections. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: flower day.

Winemaking notes: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot. “The terroir of Château Lalande is located in the town of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, along the road of great wines along the estuary of the Gironde, near the Talbot and Lagrange castles. Its vineyard, of 15.5 hectares in one piece, located on a gravelly plateau planted with noble grapes having been the subject of a meticulous choice, produces an elegant wine and a great finesse. There, the average age of the vineyard is thirty years, the grape varieties are planted to  53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot. The harvest is both mechanical and manual. Also, the management of the vineyard is fragmented. Finally, the vinification is thermo-regulated, the aging is 12 months in 35% of new barrels.”

Tasting note: the Saint-Julien is medium garnet in color with a nose of pronounced intensity with aromas of rose, carnation, cream, charred oak, vanilla, cedar, and tobacco, chocolate, red currant, raspberry. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium+ tannin, high alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of cream, tobacco, black cherry, licorice and eucalyptus. Drink from 2026, this wine is very good: 9.0/10.
