Winemaking notes: 100% Chardonnay from a 2-ha vineyard block with old vines and soils of “chalky scree slopes overlying Kimmeridgian marl. The soil is heavy and is strewn with small fossilized oysters known as “Exogyra Virgula.” Fermented in stainless steel tanks with 10% of the cuvée being transferred to new French oak barrels.

Tasting note: the Grand Cru Valmur is medium gold in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of blossom, pink apple, lemon, cream and chalky mineral. On the palate this wine is dry with high acid, high alcohol, full body, pronounced flavor intensity and a long finish with flavors of lilac, jasmine, persimmon, kaffir lime, ruby grapefruit, cream, custard, chalk, saline and a hint of green tea and sage leaf. Drink from 2026, this wine is outstanding: 9.9/10.
