Tasting note: the Castillon is deep garnet in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of violet, Turkish fig, caramel, eucalyptus, and peppermint. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acidity, medium+ tannin, high alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of violet, damson, raspberry, black cherry, red licorice, leather, cedar, vanilla, clove, green pepper, Serrano, and eucalyptus. Drink now through 2029, this when is very good: 9.4/10. There’s a great core of bright and dark fruit here and fabulous complexity and some intensity to be had; overall, very seductive and polished.
