13% abv, Claude et Cédric Joly, Rotalier, imported by the Hirsch Collection LLC, Berkeley Lake, GA. Cork closure: composite. Biodynamic calendar: fruit day.

Winemaking notes: 100% Trousseau Noir from the local clonal variety Trousseau à la Dame, which produces smaller berries and few clusters with more intense flavor. Grown on brown marl and gravel soils, and vinified and aged exclusively in vat.

Tasting note: the Trousseau is pale garnet in color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of rose petals, cranberry, sour cherry, barnyard, leather and oregano. On the palate this wine is dry with high acid, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of rose hip, sour cherry; black cherry, morello cherry, cranberry, rhubarb, black tea, barnyard, horse sweat, leather, fennel and cilantro leaf. Drink now through 2028, this wine is very good: 9.5/10. There is a touch of brett here, but I favor the complexity it adds, and there’s a lot to appreciate here is regards to balance and complexity even if the nose was a tad shy. #Jura
