14.3% abv, Cheverny, imported by Louis Dressner Selections & LDM Wines, Inc., New York, NY. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: leaf day.
Winemaking notes: 80% Sauvignon Blanc & 20% Chardonnay, vines on average 30 years of age, grown on clay and limestone soils. The varieties are vinified separately and aged in concrete tanks before assemblage.
Tasting note: the Cheverny is medium lemon in color with a clean nose of medium-minus intensity with aromas of acacia, orange blossom, apple and yogurt. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of acacia, honey, Bartlett pear, red apple, cream and thyme. Drink now, this wine is good: 8.7/10. The idea of blending Sauvignon Blanc with Chardonnay rather puzzles me, but the result is still good, albeit with the Sauvignon Blanc losing some of its varietal character.
