13% abv, Pupillin, imported by Rosenthal Wine Merchant, New York, NY. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: flower day.
Winemaking notes: 100% Trousseau, vin biolique, 40+ year-old vines grown on red limestone and clay soils, the bunches are de-stemmed and fermented in foudre with natural yeast and aged twelve months in large neutral oak.
Tasting note: the Trousseau is pale tawny in color with an unclean nose with hints of VA. On the nose this wine possesses medium+ intensity with aromas of dried cherries, chestnuts, dried strawberry, earth, mushroom, clove, smoked cherrywood, and a touch of tobacco and nag champa. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acidity, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of dried rose petals, violet, potpourri, blood orange, fig, juniper berry, boysenberry, blueberry, tobacco, sandalwood, cinnamon, and sage and thyme herbs. Drink now through 2026, this wine is very good: 9.4/10. I did not mind the acidity, it was natty and fresh to me but, for some, this could be a stumbling block to pleasure.
