14.5% abv, imported by Votto Vines Importing. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: root day.

Winemaking notes: 50% Grenache Noir, 45% Syrah & 5% Mourvèdre from alluvial terrace and zaffre soils. Extended maceration and aged in concrete and French oak barrels.

Tasting note: the Gigondas is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of pronounced intensity with aromas of black cherry, cassis, boysenberry, and scrub herbs. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium+ tannin, high alcohol, medium flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of violet, rose, lavender, sour cherry, black cherry, boysenberry, elderberry, iron, garrigue and herbs de Provence. Drink now, this wine is very good: 9.0/10. There’s some incredible power here from the meaty Syrah and a real sour wild element from the overripe Grenache that gives this wine punch; however, the alcohol and overly ripe fruit punch make the balance a bit clunky.
