Winemaking notes: 80% Grenache Noir, 10% Cinsault & 10% Mourvèdre. “he vines average more than 50 years of age, and the grapes are partially destemmed before spending a year in new and used French oak. The grapes are grown across several different terroirs using biodynamic practices. The Grenache comes off the clay and limestone terraces, the Mourvèdre is on the sand, and the Cinsault pokes through the large rounded galets.”
Tasting note: the Jaboulet CDP is medium garnet in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of red plum, fig, honey, caramel, and thyme. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium tannin, high alcohol, full body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of lavender, black cherry, maraschino liqueur, caramel, toffee, cocoa powder, licorice, anise, and herbs de Provence. Drink now, this wine is very good: 9.3/10.
