Winemaking notes: 100% Pinot Noir from 20-year-old vines grown on clay, limestone and chalk soils. The grapes are de-stemmed and fermented with natural yeast in stainless steel tank and aged for 8 months.
Tasting note: the wine is medium garnet in color with hints of tawny on the rim and a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of dried rose petals, rose hip, dried cherry, dried cranberry, leather, earth, dried sage and oregano. On the palate this wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavor of rose hip tea, blood orange, kirsch, stewed cherries, dried cranberries, tapenade, leather, earth, sage, and smoked meat. Drink now, this Saint-Porçain Pinot Noir from the Auvergne (Upper Loire) region of the Loire Valley is very good: 9.1/10.
