Winemaking notes: 52% Grenache Noir, 20% Rolle, 14% Syrah, 7% Cinsault % 7% Tibouren, grapes from estate-grown vines are destemmed, optically sorted, and the free run juice is fermented in demi-muids and stainless steel and aged on the lees for eight months with battonâge twice weekly.
Tasting note: the Esclans is medium pink orange with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of hibiscus, pink grapefruit, honeydew, blood orange, ripe strawberry, graphite, sage and fennel. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium alcohol, full body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium finish with flavors of hibiscus, apricot, tangerine, blood orange, green melon, cherry preserves, graphite, fennel and sage. Drink now through 2025, this wine is very good: 9.3/10.
