15.5% abv, Brian Barbara, Cesset, imported by Fass Selections, Irvine, CA. Cork closure: natural. Biodynamic calendar: flower day. 

Winemaking notes: 70% Gamay Noir & 30% Pinot Noir, certified organic, with 20% whole cluster fruit and fermented on the skins for 15 days. and the addition on no sulfur. The wine comes from a single south facing vineyard named ‘Les Clos’ from vines aged 15-60 grown on sand, silt and clay over granite and gneiss. The grapes were hand-harvested from a low tiled on 17hl/ha. The wine was aged in tank for 10 months. 

Tasting note: the Saint-Pourçain is garnet in color with a clean nose of medium+ intensity with aromas of hibiscus, red plum, strawberry, mirabelle plum, fig, vanilla, wood spice, leather and fresh sage. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acid, medium tannin, high alcohol, medium body, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of hibiscus, blueberry, plum, mirabelle, rosewood, black tea, orange peel, leather and sage. Drink now, this Gamay and Pinot blend is good: 8.8/10.
