Winemaking notes: 60% Négrette, 15% Gamay, & 15% Syrah, certified organic EcoCert, vilified with indigenous yeast. “Chateau Plaisance is to be found at Vacquiers on the left bank of the Tarn river in the Cotes du Frontonnais. The estate is run by father and son team Louis and Marc Penavayre who have seen their holdings grow from 7 to 16 hectares since they began bottling their own wines in 1985 from vineyards situated at the highest point of the Tarn.
Tasting note: the Fronton is medium pink in color with a clean nose of medium intensity with aromas of watermelon, plum, ginger and stony mineral. On the palate this wine is dry with medium acidity, light tannins, full body, medium alcohol, medium+ flavor intensity and a medium+ finish with flavors of carnation, dandelion, pomegranate, leather, smoke, iron, clay and tarragon herbs. Drink now or through 2024, this wine is good: 8.8/10.
